25th Annual Scouting Golf Classic

Description

The Scouting Golf Classic is an annual event that unites community members to enjoy a day of golf while supporting Scouting in Northern Illinois. This tournament provides funding for over 4,600 young individuals and 3,000 adults in Northeast Illinois, ensuring that all interested Scouts can partake in BSA programs regardless of any financial difficulties. The event also contributes to the maintenance of our two Scout camps, where BSA programs foster leadership skills, a love for the outdoors, and a dedication to mental and physical wellness.

Additionally, the tournament supports the Discover Scouts Outreach Program of the Northeast Illinois Council, BSA. The Discover Scouts Outreach Program concentrates on interacting with schools, students, and families in underserved areas. The Northeast Illinois Council, BSA, assigns dedicated staff to deliver Cub Scouting activities to interested youth during school recess or after-school at no charge. They also offer guidance to parents who volunteer to further lead Scouting activities. The primary goal is to ensure that all young people, regardless of financial difficulties, have the chance to engage in the BSA Cub Scouting program.

Currently, the Discover Scouts Program benefits 461 young individuals across seven schools in North Chicago, Waukegan, and Zion, Illinois. Through this initiative, the program aims to make a positive impact and provide equitable access to the enriching experiences that Scouting offers.
