WANT TO HOST A RIBBON CUTTING?

Welcome to the GLMV community! The GLMV Chamber can help members coordinate FREE Ribbon Cutting ceremonies for new businesses, special anniversary, reopening or other MEMBER celebrations as a welcome to the community.

When are Ribbon Cuttings Held? GLMV Ribbon Cuttings are typically held Monday - Thursday 9- 4 pm, unless otherwise necessary. Attendance outside of those times may be difficult to generate. Ribbon cuttings must be scheduled at least 3 weeks in advance to allow adequate timing for promotions. 

The ribbon cutting will take place at the beginning of the event. Many businesses use the ribbon cutting to kickoff a grand open or other celebratory weekend of events, as well.

How will my Ribbon Cutting get promoted? We ask the business to provide a PDF/JPEG flyer invite with the event details, for our promotions. 

We will add the Ribbon Cutting to our calendar, invite the chamber leadership and membership, village representatives, etc., and share the invite across our platforms. 

What is the event format? We can also provide the ribbon and big scissors, help gather guests to cut the ribbon, take digital photos for you so you can enjoy the event and mix 'n mingle. During the ceremony, the business may say a few words, introduce staff etc. GLMV officials will also say a few congratulatory words and present a ncw member certificate, if applicable. 

Members and public are always welcome to attend, and businesses are encouraged to invite their contacts, distribute promotional items, tours/demos, giveaways, raffles, provide refreshments, as appropriate.

If serving refreshments or for other items you may need for the event, please consider a chamber member as your vendor(s). All members are listed in our Business Directory on the website and/or let us know if you would like a referral to possible vendors to help make your event a success! 

How many people will come? We do not take RSVPs for Ribbon Cuttings, but if you would like folks to RSVP to you, please indicate that on your flyer.
