In partnership with area businesses, Lake County is excited to announce Career Navig8 Lake, an 8th Grade Career Exploration Day designed to motivate students to continue their career exploration and planning. We will additionally have a select group of high school students attending/participating. We invite your business to join us in providing students with quick, impactful hands-on experiences that will connect them directly with the diverse career opportunities within our community. This event will take place on October 30, 2024 at the Lake County Fairgrounds, Grayslake, IL from 8:00am - 4:00pm.
Career Navig8 Lake offers your business the unique opportunity to engage with future talent, showcase your industry, and inspire the next generation of professionals. By participating, your business will contribute to the development of a skilled and informed workforce, strengthening our local economy.
The purpose of Career Navig8 Lake is to immerse students in practical, real-world scenarios aligned with the county’s comprehensive workforce readiness goals. Students will gain a deeper understanding of various career pathways through visiting your business which represent each of the career cluster areas from the Illinois PaCE framework, an initiative to create a workforce ready future for the students of Lake County.
Some examples could be:
· Interactive Demonstrations: Provide a hands-on demonstration related to your field.
· Quick Design Projects: Engage students in a brief creative task.
· Practical Exercises: Offer students a short, practical exercise related to your industry.
By participating in Career Navig8 Lake, your business will help produce self-directed learners, collaborative workers, complex thinkers, quality producers, and community contributors.
