Mambo Italiano Celebrates 20 Years

In 2004, a winning lottery ticket made a young man’s dream come true and Lake County became the home of the one of the most sought after Italian restaurants for dining and events, Mambo Italiano. 
 
Sal Cardone has grown his dream business from two store fronts to five off Butterfield Rd. In Mundelein over its 20 year history.  This evolution was only possible because of the overwhelming response and support of loyal customers in Lake County, Illinois and beyond.

When the world shut down, Sal decided to remodel his second restaurant and take on a partner in a fellow well-known and respected name in  the Chicagoland restaurant and cuisine world, Tony Fontanini. Three years later, Sal & Tony’s is now a  suburban Pizza and Italian food destination conveniently located on the Buffalo Grove Golf Course that has earned a stellar reputation  thanks to Tony’s leadership and love for the community he serves. “ Tony is the perfect business partner, putting his own twist into our loved cuisine and making the best pizza in the industry, delivering it with high touch service that makes everyone feel like family”, says Sal. “Having him running Sal & Tony’s allows more time for my family at home and the Mambo family that has stayed loyal through many years of remodeling, expansions, shut downs and more over the past 20 years.
