Renihan Achieves Prestigious MDRT Top of the Table 2022-24
For the 3rd consecutive year, GLMV Member Todd Renihan, a personal financial representative with Allstate Financial Services in Vernon Hills, has once again qualified for the Top of the Table, a milestone achievement in the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) global industry association. This achievement empowers Renihan with tools and resources to better serve his local community by helping families prepare a financial strategy to protect all that’s important.

MDRT members must adhere to the highest ethical standards and meet specific production requirements. The Top of the Table, an internationally recognized standard of excellence, is reserved for the most successful financial services professionals. This places Todd among the top one percent of professionals in the competitive life insurance and financial services sectors to reach this distinction.

By leveraging his expertise and maintaining a client-first philosophy, Renihan has managed to exceed the high benchmarks set by MDRT. “I’m honored to be among the top advisors worldwide highlighting my commitment to help others build their financial future,” he said. Over the years, he has been recognized as a leading financial producer and emerging leader at MDRT educational meetings, and has received several Allstate’s Top Partnership Awards, as well.

From education to life insurance to retirement planning, Renihan can assist with a variety of financial products and risk protection methods. He specializes in products that address a broad spectrum of financial objectives including Mutual Funds, Annuities, Education Savings, Life and Supplemental Insurance, Long Term Care, and others. He knows the value of thinking about the “big picture” and works to provide the best solutions for each client’s unique circumstances.

“Through the use of life insurance, we have been able to continue a stream of income upon loss of a breadwinner,” he says, “which may help maintain a home and provide the opportunity for college for the children.” Renihan explains it’s also important to ensure one’s income is protected during downturns in the market, while at the same time, reducing the amount of risk within retirement accounts. “We help people understand the appropriate amount of risk to address market changes and offer ways to minimize risk.”

Renihan, a Vernon Hills resident, attributes much of his success to strong knowledge and understanding of his community, involvement for nearly 30 years in the Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills (GLMV) Chamber of Commerce, and other groups and organizations, continued learning, and business networking.

Prior to joining the financial services business in 1997, Renihan was in law enforcement in the northwest suburbs, and is a veteran, serving in active duty in west Germany and reserves at Western Illinois University (WIU). A management minor in college pointed him toward entrepreneurship.

A long-established entrepreneur, Renihan has held various leadership positions in the GLMV Chamber, including former chairman of the board of directors, network group chair, committees, speaker, mentor and advocate, always willing to share expertise and insights with other professionals. As the largest local business advocacy organization, GLMV provides innovative opportunities to connect and build relationships via events, activities and programs. “By participating and finding commonalities, the more comfortable and easier it becomes to grow business,” he says. “It’s true that people do business with those they know, like, trust.”

Renihan further participates in industry-wide educational sessions, forums and mastermind groups to share ideas and practices, enjoys motivational presentations and reads business books.
He suggests all business owners engage locally and, in their chambers, key to staying top of mind. Regular networking has led to introductions to prospective clients at the businesses he works with, enhancing his own business growth.

“Todd inspires our members to build relationships, grow and achieve more,” noted GLMV President Scott Adams. “His innate ability to favorably connect with people has positively impacted his success.”

The last four years have been his best, despite the covid-19 pandemic. When lockdowns made it impossible to conduct business in person, he knew he had to find a way to continue his practice, especially with two daughters in college at the time. “I quickly learned to rely on phone and emails.” As such, he increased outreach, eliminated travel and added part-time support staff to assist with the day-to-day activities for better time management. Today, Todd’s wife Renae, daughter Madison, an admin, and a summer intern round out the busy team.

Helping people is the key, Renihan says, and his ongoing priority is for people to have financial certainty throughout their life. He advises professionals to "focus on what you excel at, set goals, stay glued to where you need to be and keep going forward.”
    Congratulations Todd!
